On Saturday, August 29th, a “Walk for Health Care Reform” was held in our own Sonoma Plaza. The Index-Tribune reported that some 250-300 supporters were in attendance. With the generous help and contributions of Sonoma residents, the peaceful walk, discussions, and picnic that followed made for a warm, joyful, and uniquely Sonoma event.

Success!! We completed our Obama book donation to our local schools. We provided our schools with a total of 24 books. Our elementary and middle schools received "Barack Obama, Son of Promise, Child of Hope" and "Barack", while Sonoma Valley High School received "The Audacity of Hope" and "Dreams From My Father".

On Thursday April 16th, we hosted State Senator Mark Leno for a briefing on the May 19th ballot propositions, and California's dire fiscal situation. As a compromise of the budget stalemate, the ballot propositions act as an alternative that would redirect funds to fill the spending gap. Senator Leno supports all of the propositions, recognizing that the situation is not ideal, but are all essential.
